Queen Frederika indeed said she was a Queen, and VE replied that she was too, and that JC was "nobody", but a Bourbon, decending from 17 Kings and, compared to that, both of them were simply "parvenues".
A surprising remark, if true, from Queen VE. After all, via their mutual descent from Queen Victoria alone, she and Queen Frederika could count just as many kings and queens in their ancestry as Juan Carlos (going back through all the Hanoverians, Stuarts, Tudors and Plantagenets etc.) so hardly 'parvenues'.
