She fits in with others like the Swedish Queen Ulrika Eleonora who inherited the throne from her brother but than abdicated in favour of her husband. Queen Mary II who was monarch and consort at the same time (as was her husband William III) and several medieval queens who first reigned in their own right to become their husband's consort.
