The result is princes who damage their families by airing the dirty laundry. This is not something that has happened in The Netherlands. The younger brother of King Willem-Alexander would never go on record complaining on how he and his brother are 'on different paths' or how his relationship with his older brother is 'complicated'.
The titling among the Dutch royals is haphazard, inconsistent, and messy and, although their titles aren’t “of the Netherlands”, the fact that the Dutch princes of Parma were incorporated into the Dutch nobility with the style of Royal Highness in perpetuity is quite peculiar, especially when their cousins have their titles limited and then diminishing to the low-ranking or commoners.
