Served in Vietnam on the "Jolly J" when she was still a DLG. 69-72. Two PIRAZ tours and North SAR, Gulf of Tonkin. E-5, Radarman. Specialist-EW, ECM and ECCM. Sam Gravely was my last Captain before I got out. Captain Barnhart was my first.
Great memories and a loss to now know that she is gone. I have no idea when she was taken out.
Breaks my heart as a sailor. Damn. I thought she was in Susuin Bay off SF. Guess I was wrong. Damn again.
