Another Hy-Lo variation was the unmarked square tank used by road departments were the only name stamped on them were marked on top of the globe holder. They also have the round baffle inside the tank were the wick is retained in the center of the tank just like the 8-day lanterns. There are other Dietz and Embury lanterns that have round baffles inside the center of the tank to retain the wick inside. Square tank Hy-Lo lanterns with names marked that are in good shape are some what rare. The square tank Hy-Lo has the two diferent globe holders with the Y shape and cross over wire retainers also. City names that I have on mine are L.A.CO.-P.T.CO.-SO.COS.GAS.CO. Steve Hillyer.
