I used 5/8 acme for the elevating screw. It looks and works very well. I machined a keyway the length of the screw and the T-Handle on the left side of the carrage enters into the slot to prevent rotation of the screw. I would send you pics of my rig if you'd like. I tried to duplicate the sketch/drawing of the Gatling from the Wahl & Toppel book. Came out good. Hammer
