Steve,
At 1/3 scale the D&E plans call for a 3/8" -12 Acme thread.
Proportionally ,this looks about right based on the 1874 Colt I have seen.
For reference I am working on a 0.37 scale Mountain Howitzer and have the actual Dwgs. This screw is 1 1/8" - 5 Acme thd. full size.
