The big shot doctor from UCLA that we were recommended to, after being Johnny on the spot to get her in to the office, took a month to get back to us. But of course his bill came quickly. He is very strange, I believe there is something wrong with him. Everyone who hears about this is angry with his unprofessional behavior. He finally called us after several messages and emails. It's obvious he's not invested in her case. Was this ever a shock and disappointment. Kaiser has been better than I expected, they have an oncology department with its own nurses, pharmacists, care coordinators, palliative clinic, social workers, etc. etc. etc.
Stacey insists on looking nice when she goes to appointments, she puts on makeup and fixes her hair, wears nice clothes and a bit of jewelry. She's a pretty girl to begin with, and she turns the fellows' heads. Today, a fellow in the elevator with her began to flirt, she mentioned she just came from getting chemo, and she said he turned pale. Tonight she is home with the pump, is feeling very sick, and is in tears wondering if she will ever get her old life back.
