Re: Living with nothing but Lanterns
|
Hi, I like to do this occasionally too, indoors and out. I use my lanterns for outdoors, accent lighting (with colored globes) and portable needs, three Rayo center draft lamps, one Aladdin lamp and one W.T.K. #300 Frontier hanging lamp for general room lighting, reading and dining. Those rayo lamps are real fuel hogs though, each one can consume 32 to 48 ounces of kerosene in six hours depending on how high they are turned up. Additionally, in one hallway I have three restored Dressel railroad car lamps that have Plume & Atwood burners with dual 1-1/16" inch wicks that burn heavy oil. I also make sure there's plenty of ventilation in each room by putting an exhaust fan in one window and opening another for intake. Anyway, have fun but be safe too. Regards, Willis
