I just picked up a Consolidated Edison TG.
It's kind of beat up, (Character!) but not too bad, and no real rust to speak of.
The thing that drew me to it was the amber Dietz 855 globe.
I have many TG's, but this is my first with an 855.
The lantern is the later bail style, no globe guard, keyed (tamper proof) wick raiser, and a flat wick. (Also my first TG with a flat wick!)
What I am wondering, is if anyone has any advice on a good spray paint color match for the Con Ed yellow.
I'm not looking to make it perfect, just a little more like it's supposed to look.
Someone painted this one silver at some point. It looks like a thick, globby brush job.
If anybody has any experience with this particular color, your two cents worth would be much appreciated!
