Blizzard Mill lantern

I have received a nice looking mill lantern from a friend. I know a picture would be best but my camera is not working for some reason. Ok, it has a flat top tank. On the back of the tank it says No.2 Blizzard Mill. On the filler side is says NEW YORK U.S.A. It says Dietz on the top of the chimney. It has a No. 252 slotted cone 1" burner not the usual wing lock. I saw the burner in a 1917 catalog so im guessing it was made around that time. It has the usual guards around the globe that swing open. It has a heavy coat of brushed on red paint all over so I cant see any dates. Can anyone tell me the original color of this lantern? the bottom isn't painted it looks like tarnished tin plate. I will be dipping this one over the weekend so I would like to what to do when I get the bad paint job off. Ill post pictures as soon as I get a camera that works. Harry W.
