The (Inside Flag) Cold Blast Lift for Hot Blast Lanterns was applied for patent by both Dietz and Ham in joint assignment in 1909. At that time they were both likely using this lift along with domed founts. The Dietz Blizzard appears to have had this lift in 1909. This small fill, ring tube Monarch was the first hot blast with the cold blast lift isued in 1911. The cold lift continued on the large fill Monarchs in 1912 and 1913. The Monarch returned to the backside cam lift in 1914. That's a very rare Monarch, as Monarchs go. The correct period globe would be a zero shape Dietz Fitall. BB
