Sorry Chris, that's what happens when I get in a hurry. And the straight sided Fitall dates should read 1911-1912. The information in Hobson is very general. We know a lot more about the Monarch now. Dietz made over 30 different versions. Your 1911 Monarch should indeed have a 1908 patent. It should also have the Dietz elipse logo on the lid, which was introduced in 1910.
