Good to hear from you, Mike! Nice lantern. The Blizzard was the first cold blast made by Dietz in the No.2 size, not the first lantern or the first cold blast. This one may well be the 1898 model. It appears to be pin-on-cone locking burner. You need to show a shot of the burner gallery, showing the pin channel. A shot of the top pull ring and one of the single-ring embossed bottom, would also help. Actually, the rarest Blizzards are the 1912-1919 models. The rarest of all would be one made during the wartime production between late 1916 and early 1919, where it appears that they only made naval deck lanterns and few, if any, cold blast lanterns. Blizzards made in the NYC plant were production dated starting in 1914.
