This may be a real rookie question, but I have absolutely NO experience with kerosene, whatsoever.
I was at the local home-improvement warehouse to purchase more Klean Heat, which is the only thing I have used in my lanterns so far, and right next to it was kerosene. (I think it said 1-K?)
I was just wondering what the difference is between this "off the shelf" kerosene, and the stuff you can buy from the pump at the local service station.
There is a significant difference in price; with the store bought stuff going for $10 a gallon, and the last time I saw it at the pump, I believe it was $3 a gallon.
I do plan on trying real kerosene in some lanterns eventually, to get more of the true experience ... smell and all. (They are "kerosene" lanterns, after all)
I was just wondering what the difference is, and if one is better than the other.
Any advice?
Thanks much!
Barry
