PB flew out the back door

I had a visitor today and she wanted to see my birds and I forgot that the back door was open. Yes, he flew outside and has not been recovered. It feel so terrible about this as the weather will be in the lower 40's tonight. I have his cage outside and cockatiel sounds playing. I am soooooo upset about this. Daffy and Willie have been flock calling since he left and it got dark outside. Please pray that someone finds him.

Do you have any kind of lighting that you can put around the cage.

Do you have anybody that can help you look tomorrow? Is there any type of bird group by you?

Yes, 2 people are looking for him now but I doubt he survived the 35 degree temps last night

He might have survived the night if he found a place to cuddle into and stay dry. Try not to give up hope. Get those lost ads out there, have your friends put flyers out.

I'm really sorry, Lori... I've been lucky never to have had to go through this, but, knowing me I would terrorize myself, thinking of what could be happening. Keep us posted, please.

Is he tame?

If he's tame, hopefully he flew to some people who took him in. Put ads out on the lost and found places, call vets, shelters, anyone you can think of. Have your friends put flyers out.

I hope someone found him and that you can reuinte again soon!

My very first tiel escaped like that, too. I was a wreck. I put lost ads in the papers, put up flyers all over the neighborhood, called the SPCA to give them a heads up along with area vets. I put his cage and seed and water on the patio. I kept his seed in a reused coffee can and he associated the shaking of the can with food so I walked the neighborhood shaking the can. I got a lot of calls that week from people who had found tiels but they all had a leg ring. My Paddy was untagged so I knew that none of them were him.

Seesthru was right, they can survive colder temps. Prayers for you and PB.

I used to have a Lost and Found board bookmarked but it's not in the list anymore. It's been so many years now that I can't remember the name of it. But there are other Lost and Found sites for posting about a lost bird or a found bird.

911 parrot alert is the old site people used to use. They're on facebook, too. look for pawboost, or othe rlocal sites to post PB on, too. ANd flyers in your neighborhood.

Posted everywhere online and yes he is posted on a group I am admin too. Lost and found Birds of the US.

Of course I am beating myself up for this. Willie was his bonded friend and both he and Daffy have been flock calling for PB since he flew off. That is the most heartbreaking part about it. Willie and Daffy never got along and even now Willie won't allow Daffy near. Hopefully this will improve in time.
