My very first tiel escaped like that, too. I was a wreck. I put lost ads in the papers, put up flyers all over the neighborhood, called the SPCA to give them a heads up along with area vets. I put his cage and seed and water on the patio. I kept his seed in a reused coffee can and he associated the shaking of the can with food so I walked the neighborhood shaking the can. I got a lot of calls that week from people who had found tiels but they all had a leg ring. My Paddy was untagged so I knew that none of them were him.
