I can still remember that day like it was yesterday. I may have been one of the last people in the world who learned about the twin towers, the Pentagon, and flight 93. I didn't learn about it until after 4 pm that day when I turned the television on.
The horror of the lives lost, of how people died, of the families that lost loved ones will never leave me. the courage of people facing death, will never cease to humble me.
Most of all, the memory of the days after, when the world was quieter, and kinder, when people reached out to strangers to lend a hand or offer a shoulder, will never cease to touch my soul. Every kind gesture was a tribute to the 3000 who lost their lives.
Never forget any of it. Let it make us all more patient, more kind, more understanding, and more appreciative of each and every day we are given.
