Re: New "Old" Doritos are NOT original taco
Greetings fellow Taco Doritos lover. I was born in 1960 and as I got older, I remember when Doritos came out in the late 60's or 70's, I bought a bag of those treasured chips. I was instantly in love. For years Doritos made the Taco flavored chips, and actually the original Taco ones did not have sour cream. That's what made them so delicious. Well years later something happened and they stopped making them for some reason. For years becoming a chip-a-holic for the Taco ones, I kept wondering when my chip was ever going to be made again. Well years later they actually brought them back with a BIG change, they started making them again but this time they added the sour cream. Well they sort of tasted like the original but the sour cream made them taste a little different but hey, Taco was back. Well then some time later they decided to completely stop making them. For years I was very angry with Doritos for doing this. So some 30+ years later, They actually came back. When I saw that bag of Taco Doritos on the shelf, instantly I grabbed that back like I was having a heart attack, paid for it and almost breaking down the convenience store to get out, I ripped open the bag and saw the exact same color of chip I remember. First I smelled the inside of the bag to see if the smell was there I remember. It was. So then I took out one chip, took a taste and almost cried, this was extremely close to how they originally tasted, now this is a taste I remember at least 30 years ago. So for eating something for a long time, that taste will always be there. Now Doritos have introduced a new Taco flavored chip. They're called Tacos at midnight. They're sort of o.k. Not bad really.
