Re: New "Old" Doritos are NOT original taco
No, they aren't. The original Taco doritos did NOT have cheddar cheese and sour cream in the ingredients. I remember the day like it was yesterday. My friend and I were about 18 or so, we decided at midnight to hop in the car and drive to Virginia. Just on a whim. So we stopped at 7-11 and got a bag of Taco Doritos, my favorite chip since 5th grade, and some watermelon sippy drinks. It was dark of course, because it was after midnight, Maria was driving and we were well on our way. I said "Here we go, Dorito time!" and I opened the bag and ate the first one. I spit it out and said "ew, I must have gotten a bad one!" I tried a second chip, and again, this vile taste was all over my tongue. I turned on the interior light of the car, and there - plain as day on the front of the bag were the words which were my downfall... "Now, with Cheddar Cheese and Sour Cream!" That was circa 1986. These are NOT the originals. THey are the imposters. The bag I got at Walmart yesterday DOES say "Back by popular demand, Taco". If you look on the back of your bag in the ingredient list, you will see cheddar cheese and sour cream. If you DON"T see them in your ingredient list, Jason, then you are my new best friend. I will give you anything you ask for if you send me a bag of them without the cheese and sour cream. Just as Jeff, I'm good for a trade.
