The clock starts ticking for the new Monarch as soon as the old Monarch dies. So if Prince Daniel was born before King Gustaf VI Adolf died he technically was born during the reign of Gustaf VI Adolf. And if Prince Daniel was born after the old King died - then he was born during the reign of his father-in-law
