Re: Another grandchild on the way for the King and Queen
If the Act of Succession to the throne hadn't been altered at all there would have been no heirs to the throne, because Prince Carl Philip's marriage to Sofia would have been in contradiction to the Act.
I just thought that when the succession laws were changed in Sweden it was not just for equality reasons but also a fear that yet another generation would have to go on having children in order to provide the throne with an heir.
Had they not changed the line of succession the king still would have had three heirs and possibly a fourth on the way.
Still i believe Sweden made the right choice, im not sure if Carl Philip would have been allowed to marry Sofia had he been the crown prince and i think Victoria is better suited to the role of heiress than he would have been to the role of heir. Or at least she seems to be. I believe Carl Philip and Sofia prefer their current role that leaves more freedom for themselves and their children.
That is really lovely news.
