Recently Crown Prince Frederik was in Norway during a tenure as regent which is against the law.
I guess that in Practical terms Benedikte would step in when both Frederik and Mary are abroad at the same time as the queen, and the couple often travel together
Is there an order of precedence for the regents? If both the Queen and the Crown Prince are away, and both Crown Princess Mary and Princess Benedikte are available, how is it decided which one of them should act as regent?
The normal order of precedence within the royal family is: Frederik, Mary, Joachim, Benedikte - so I think the same applies here.
