: In Norway only the hereditary princess is an
: HRH. Her brother is just Prince but without
: a style. Im curious to see how his children
: will be styled. I would not be surprised if
: they were made mister/miss ???.
:
: Foolish/silly that the son of a future king
: is not a Royal Highness.
Well both the sister and the daughter of the current King get by perfectly well without the HRH so i don't see why Prince Sverre would need it.
Norway has it's own way of doing things and that seems to work for them. The monarchy seems stable and respected there and i've not heard of any imminent plans to abolish the system yet.
:
: In Luxembourg they have split the titles.
: Only children of the main line are HRH
: prince(ss) of Luxembourg, prince(ss) of
: Nassau. Other male line descendants are HH
: prince(ss) of Nassau
:
: They are Royal Highnesses.
So far yes but that is as male line descendants of Prince Felix de Bourbon de Parme. It will be interesting to see what happens to the descendants of Alexandra and Amelie (currently the only women affected by the gender neutral succession).
:
: The UK already has a limit on HRH's and
: seems to be going down a route where the
: children of Harry and Meghan might not
: become HRH prince(ss) once their grandfather
: succeeds.
:
: It would be better if they brought back the
: style of Highness so there is a more
: “natural” stepping down of titles/styles…
: Royal Highness, Highness, Lord/Lady… I would
: like to see Lord/Lady extended indefinitely
: in the male line.
:
: Royal Highness for the children of the
: sovereign and all heirs eventual, Highness
: for the children of Royal Highnesses,
: Lord/Lady thereafter, etc.
I think the return to HRH for children of the main line and HH for grandchildren of the main line before going to Lord/Lady in the next generation is a good idea. Let's hope the Prince of Wales and his advisors read this .
:
: The Dutch have already messed up their
: system even further so the less said about
: that the better. Im hoping the brains of
: family and future Queen Catharina-Amalia
: will someday straighten things out again.
: Her father in spite of his history degree is
: not that interested in those matters and his
: mother for all her qualities was not exactly
: succesful as Head of the Orange-Nassau
: family (she was a very good Queen though).
:
: Not just their titles but also their
: heraldry.
Well that is why i said that Beatrix was a great sovereign but not so good as Head of the Orange-Nassau dynasty.
