Confirmed: Brad Hills signs for County on a permanent deal on a 5 year deal

"🚀 #StockportCounty have confirmed the signing of Norwich City defender Brad Hills for an undisclosed fee, on a *five-year* deal.
Hills returns to Edgeley Park after a successful loan spell last season, with The Hatters fending off strong interest elsewhere to bring the 21-year-old back.
The move has no connection to the Ethan Pye situation - still no approaches/bids for Pye. The club recently noted at the annual fans' forum that it would be 'very difficult' to sell Pye at this stage of the window, *if* any bid does come in.
The Hills deal is not a club record fee, with that still the Malik Mothersille signing this summer. As ever, clauses and add-ons (if conditions met) could take the total package higher than the initial fee.

County CEO, Simon Wilson said:

“It’s fantastic to bring Brad back to the Club, this time permanently on a long-term contract. We stayed in touch with Norwich and Brad’s representatives over the summer and as soon as the opportunity came about, we were keen to explore if we could make it happen.

“The deal owes a lot of thanks to Brad’s positive experience of the Club during his loan spell last season – so there are so many people involved in that, from teammates to supporters. But a huge thanks to Mark for his continued commitment to the Club’s vision of investing in elite potential players with their best years ahead of them.”

First-Team Manager, Dave Challinor said:

“It’s brilliant to welcome Brad back to the Club, and this time on a permanent basis. This signing is a statement one from the Club - investing in another young player on a long-term contract with real potential to grow and improve with us.

“I don’t need to tell our supporters what Brad will bring to our group, as he showed that in his time with us previously, but it’s great now to have him as our player.

“I think it’s fair to say we didn’t feel the opportunity would arise to get Brad back, and felt he was destined for the Championship this season with either Norwich or another team, but the chance did come back to us and doing the deal was met with universal approval.

“He will really add to our defensive unit, which I think already contains some of the brightest young talents in the EFL - Brad is another.”
