He wasn't particularly supportive of Bens quality kicking either yesterday!

I struggle to be positive about Wootton. When he came on the number one objective seemed to be to cling on to their centre backs resulting in daft fouls. I thought in the good old days strikers were told to look to get into space so the ball could be played to them?

Let's hope this young lad from Man U brings his shooting boots with him.

I am told (by a red) thet he is very highly regarded so fingers crossed.

We were much better after Wootton came on yesterday.

To be fair Wootton was just one of the changes, that said that doesn't detract from the point that he commits far too many fouls. Camps for me helped to tighten and speed things up in midfield.

Anyway this is the lad that might be heading our way. Fingers crossed.

The other change at the same time was Jack Diamond.

I wouldn't be pinning all my hopes on this lad from United, if he even comes in.

Wootton is the focal point of our style of play and has been one of our best players this season; this lad isn't going to come in and take Wootton's place.

I picked up my new glasses from Specsavers last week.

If you think Wootton has been one of our best players then I'd book an appointment if I were you.

Don't get me wrong, he puts effort in, but the number of times he effectively gives the ball back to the opposition is crazy.

If the stats say otherwise I'll hold my hand up but IMHO he puts himself about, grabs shirts etc and the refs are clearly on to him. To be fair the horse does the same at the back quite frequently.

BTW if this lad is coming in having already played for Man U albeit as a sub in the Premier League, then I'm not sure why he can't or shouldn't be considered as a better more mobile option.

Wootton is very good at what he's asked to do in the system we play; he's there to battle with defenders like he does (and like other strikers do with our defenders). Your issue should be with the system we play rather than Wootton's execution of it.

On Wheatley, I'm not sure a total of 13 minutes of Premier League football across 3 appearances is a barometer of anything. It's certainly not enough for anyone to start making wild predictions about him being better than Wootton is.

Apart from rotation ,can't think of a reason why he did'nt start, seeing we are miles better with him as the focal point.
