Overall very impressed with the progress they are making in updating central Stockport. Underbank, the revamped White Lion, the market area, Merseyway. The sun always makes places look a lot better.
Still lots of work in progress but there are issues. Too many closed boarded up shops for a start.
There were a lot more people there than I remember perhaps helped due to this weekends festival. Worth a visit tomorrow if you fancy some food. there is all sorts.
They need to fill central Stockport with hundreds more flats that will help to keep the shops busy.
We went on to the new bus terminus. What a magnificent building. Well OTT but a nice design. There is a great spiral construction that takes you eventually to the top level. Must have cost millions just for that feature alone and the gardens on the top.
At the other end of the scale the ground floor toilets are 20p entrance. Tight gets, especially if you're running late for your bus and desperate!
The one thing they have forgotten is the trip to the railway station from the bus station. No covered walkway so if it's lashing it down and you have to take that route perhaps with a wheelchair or pram you are going to be *iss wet through by the time you get there.
