Truly one of the greatest of days. I suppose you have to be getting on for 33 or so to have have been present, but for those who were it will never be forgotten. Naturally I was moved to write a piece about it, which not only reflects on that game but also on that 3 or 4 year period when we had the hex on those who had purportedly saved the club during the dark days of the 70's and 80's. So for good measure there's not only a link to the highlights of this game but also to the compendium "City City What's the Score". 6 games against them, 3 wins, 2 draws and a single defeat. Read it here:
Line up that afternoon: 1 Eric Nixon 2 Sean Connelly 3 Damon Searle 4 Tom Bennett 5 Mike Flynn 6 Martin McIntosh 7 Jim Gannon 8 Paul Cook (Chris Byrne) 9 Brett Angell 10 Alun Armstrong 11 Tony Dinning: (Subs not used: Martin Nash; Kevin Cooper)
Just out of interest some other games on 29th November. Among them, 14 years after the high of the City game was one of the lowest ever points for me, the 'social loafers' 7-0 pasting at Grimsby.
