The statement that referred to "cultural issues" stressed that it was not results driven so I assumed it was not Football related and was "personality driven".
To hazard a guess the Football Manager reports to the Director of Football who in turn is answerable to the Owner. The culture of accountability may well be where the issue arose especially where no relationship exists between the Manager and owner. I don't know it's just a guess.
As we know Jim is his own man and nothing upsets the apple cart more. Sticklers for a pecking order can't abide the popular man or woman because it detracts from what they do.
There should be no comparison between Gannon and Rusk. I'm sure Rusk knew of the Clubs interest in him long before Jim was sacked but could he stop it? Nah.
We're not in a results business at the moment. We've scored once in the past 5 games but conceded one in 4 and suffered the loss of key players to injury (Kitching for the past 4 plus Connor Jennings and Croasdale for the last 3). We are still in the New Manager period and the club will see criticism as a consequence of who he replaced. Early days and all that.
The arrival of Walker and Dalby on loan and Collar (who played well today) all suggest there is truth in the rumour of a clean sheet approach towards the end of the season. Quite a few of our "name" players have let both Managers and everyone else down this season. We all know who they are. They are capable of better and have shown it on very rare occasions. I imagine that we will see a vastly different starting 11 next season.
