Just because you don't accept it, doesn't mean it isn't. Some people consider it to be and given those people I've cited have been personally affected by conflicts that the poppy is represents the casualties of, I think they're in a fair position to hold that view, as you are to hold the opposite.
As I said earlier, I'm not anti-poppy but I'm also able to acknowledge peoples' issues with it, I used the poppy as an example to prove my point.
We can take the political part away it, because my argument still stands up without it. You said earlier that you wouldn't want a non-political racial equality gesture before games yet you'd still be happy for the ceremony for Remembrance to take place.
You either just want to just go and watch the game or you don't. From where I'm standing, you only want acknowledgement at football of the things you care personally about.
