The Premier League is due to restart on 19th September and MacAntony at Peterborough believes the EFL could restart on Aug 29th or Sep 12th.
What are the National League doing regarding restarting football at our level?
I think they need to think creatively;
a) Negotiate with the government, FA, EFL and TV companies to put in place a funding package to offset some of the losses caused by reduced or no crowds
b) Work with the government to see if they can restart operating at 20% to 25% of capacity, as suggested in the article by MacAntony
Pubs are reopening. Football is outside and I'm sure with the new 1 metre plus guidelines that you could achieve social distancing with a limited capacity of 20% to 25%. The problems will be with concourses / toilets / rails etc, but that needs to be managed with one way systems / enhanced cleaning, etc.
c) Look at streaming all games on-line on a pay per view basis. I know there is a problem if one household just pays £10 per game, rather than buying 3 or 4 tickets / season tickets, but this can be offset by also selling pay per view tickets or season tickets for away games.
Why do we hear absolutely nothing from the National League? They need to start 2020 - 21 in some form, we can't just miss a whole season.
