The guy speaks a lot of sense & has done a very good job with Tranmere. Football needs a massive shake up in the way it is run & this could be the catalyst for it. Unfortunately the real power nowadays is with players agents, i can never see a wage cap being introduced whilst those leeches exist.
I've never liked parachute payments, whilst i understand they're there to ease the financial burden of a club dropping a division i've always felt it's like rewarding a team for failure. A team getting relegated from the premier league will bank substantially more money than a team that's just missed out in the play offs in the championship. Clubs should be inserting mandatory pay cuts in player contracts in the eventuality of relegation to keep finances manageable rather than relying on massive handouts to keep players on inflated wages in a lesser division (The Jack Rodwell scenario at Sunderland was obscene), again though, never happen when agents are involved.
