Also Sanders supporters would have every right to feel aggrieved. He was the frontrunner until every other candidate dropped out and endorsed Biden (except Warren who endorsed no one, again) right before Super Tuesday. For the DNC to then pick someone else to take Biden’s place would be yet another slap in the face.
It’s also worth noting, at this point, that a higher percentage of Sanders primary voters turned out for Clinton in 16 than Clinton primary voters turned out for Obama in 08. So the narrative that Sanders supporters gave Trump the election (that Clinton is obsessed with) doesn’t hold up to scrutiny. It was former Obama voters switching in key states that gave Trump the electoral college and the election.
Of course with Biden having sexual assault accusations against him and the votes that will cost him, I know people who won’t vote for him because of that and some in key states, maybe a switch to Cuomo would be less damaging after all. The whole thing is a mess.
