I don’t work in education but my partner does, and is workijg in a school with the highest deprivation in Stockport.
What is evident is that the network that the most vulnerable children need will be pulled out from under them if they close. There are kids who will go hungry, get beaten up, neglected and all sorts. Obviously there is no precedent for this so you have to make your own up - social services won’t be able to cope if it’s passed to them.
There probably isn’t a right or wrong answer but there’s so many implications to closing schools.
