| We are not alone this, I am often amused by the way English is transliterated into Greek. For instance sandwich is written 'santouits' and all short u sounds are written as a, as in Lantan, Santerlant etc. There no single letter for b in Greek, as beta these days is pronounced like v, so they use mp to make the b sound, hence mpir for beer. (I would do the Greek letters , but I don't think yellowboard can cope with that font) |
