If we don’t win promotion this season then the earliest we can is next season. In that scenario we’d be in League Two with them only having one year left on their contract. In that eventuality they’ll get a chance to prove themselves with us in League Two (like last years team have had a chance to at this level) but if they can’t cut it will go at the end of that contract.
In the event we don’t manage it this or next we’ll still have them for a further shot the season after.
As for deemed not good enough for that level that’s a matter of conjecture. Lloyd has proven he is and it certainly seems like Salford fans think Maynard and Hogan are as well. They’re good signings, they’re the sort of quality we need to win promotion from this level.
