I recall an interview in the 90s, i think it was when Newcastle Utd got rid of their reserve team (and reduced the size of their squad). Kevin Keegan stated that all the coaching staff were registered as players (including himself) as a matter of course...whilst it was a light hearted interview, the administrative process was sound.

I would like to imagine, that whilst Ben is now a coach, that he is also registered as a player for that just in case instance.
