In Mark Stott we have the custodian we never dared dream of – that is with the exception of those whose dream it is that it is themselves who are in charge instead. Never having had a Lamborghini I don't know how thrilling it is to drive one but I suppose in their own way they are no different to Mini Metros in that once you’ve had one you've had them all. (Yes! Even the bad boy MG.) It appears to me that Mr Stott gets a far bigger kick out of County both in a footballing sense and in the positive difference he can achieve for the community through the club. He is creating a legacy, and long may County provide for his altruistic desires and may fellow fans occasionally acknowledge his stewardship because with your version of sustainable the 80+(?) new jobs would not have happened, the PE kit initiative wouldn’t have been executed, the Women’s team would not be taken seriously, etc etc, and to crown it all our season would have ended three weeks ago with a creditable away draw at Barnoldswick Town rather than six years of success capped by a fighting chance of getting into the Championship in a winner-takes-all televised scorcher at Wembley on Sunday.
