The club is doing it to the fans as opposed to with the fans. This massively increases the risk of getting things wrong even when trying to do right.
I wouldn’t mind but the customer base - the fans - are ready, willing and able to engage. In the supporters co-op there is even a vehicle to do it. Why run the risk of pissing your customers/fans off by taking unilateral action with no consultation?
