Great set of supporters, most of whom had some sort of UK background so had chants similar to ones sung in England. One of the original Aus clubs from the National Soccer League days, the pre-runner to the A-League.
They had Steve McMahon in charge when I went to my first game in 2005, and a very old & slow Brian Deane up front .
McMahon didn't last long, and nor did Deane.........I think the biggest crowd they got that year was @15,000 - and that was only beacuse we were playing Sydney FC who had Dwight Yorke in their team!
They had a purple patch (not because of their kit colour ) in the early 2010's but then seemed to drop off.
I enjoyed going, reckon the standard was about League One/Two level. Crowds averaged @12,000.
Now I'd say it's more like National League and the crowds are down to @6000.
