I suppose he was a bit sensitive about his hairpiece. There is a clip on Youtube from one of the Country Reunion Shows with Bill Anderson where Jim's hairpiece is laughed about. He was on a bus with various country artistes and he thought somebody was mocking it. He challenged them to a fight and got off the bus and threw a punch at I think Stonewall Jackson. He said Jim missed and he went one way and the "toup" went the other!
