
I called the museum once myself but my experience was not as good as yours. Perhaps it was my fault.
In any event, I take responsibility for how the call went. I was much younger and naive back then.
No one is more positive about Jim Reeves, his music and history as I am, so I hesitate to say anything negative.
My memory was that I was very nervous about making the call, long distance cost money at the time, and I was unsure about what to say. I think I was inquiring about the Bear 16 Disk set but I'm not 100% on that.
I engaged in small talk, inquired about the museum, and made the mistake of asking if Jim's toupee was on display. The response was not good.
I did not know at the time, but recent postings on the internet, indicate that the toupee was a very sensitive subject.
I do not know who I spoke to, but I take full responsibility for the negativity I engendered.
