The two songs you mentioned Mike are spot on. These songs never garnered the accolades they so richly deserved. The pure magic Jim was able to sprinkle on every one of his recordings is simply mesmerizing. Dictionary describes this word as "Something that is SO captivating and fascinating it holds your attention completely". From Jim's perfect timing on holding a note, to his ability in achieving just the right expression thru slight pitch change..well, what can anyone say...Simply perfection.

In my opinion, two songs(and countless others)that come to mind that fit this category are "When You Are Gone" and "Wild Rose". For me these represents the epitome of a great and timeless song. Suffice to say just because any of these songs were not number one on the charts, they will always be number on for me.
