Like many of you I have been a Jim Reeves fan here in the UK since the early 60's. These AI recordings leave me very torn.
They are immensely pleasurable to listen to, and I also can't tell the difference from the real thing. So what now? Should I feel disloyal to Jim? If I add them to my collection am I cheating a little?
Of course we're talking gain here. Is someone cheating Jim's legacy when they try to make money out of them?
I just don't know what to think.
As an aside, The sentiment of 'Teardrops Can't Be Far Away' to me is in the vein of Jim's big Hit ' A Nickel Piece of Candy'.
I'm comparing already.
