Many will probably recall reading about Radio Fremantle from my past posts, mainly because of the hosts promotion of Jim Reeves and his legacy. Volunteer hosts Geoff Simons and Ian Mills will be looking forward to a well deserved retirement from the broadcasting world. last week, Geoff mentioned that as of that show , they have featured the "Rare Reeves' section of their program for the 700th. time. Also dedicating their entire show to Jim at the end of every July each year. A true testament of their mission to keep Jim's music current and available for all to enjoy.
I have asked them a request to open their final show with "Is It Really Over" and end the show with "When You Are Gone". Can't think of two better choices. I think Jim would approve! Of course whatever they decide it will be a great show.
Along with countless other Country Classic singers from back in the day, this program will be sorely missed. I feel privileged to have been one of their listeners. Thank you Geoff and Ian for always being there for Jim Reeves ....I know this would make him very happy..
May I wish everyone here on the Forum a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year... thank You..
