I agree with the assessment of Ken Burns as an elitist, and he has been very successful in ingratiating himself with people in powerful positions who can help his career. Some of his historical documentaries are masterpieces but the country music one was the most abysmal such series I have ever seen. They didn't just give Jim short shrift; they omitted many other country stars who deserved to be mentioned. It was an abomination.

However, to invoke Tucker Carlson is something I must take issue with. Carlson is an incorrigible liar and demagogue who has distorted the facts as a way of life to manipulate his unsuspecting viewers and boost his ratings. He is a racist and routinely misinforms his audience.

But like a stopped clock that is right twice a day, I guess Tucker can manage to say something that's the truth now and then, despite himself.
