August 4, 2019, I posted a message about the forthcoming PBS Documentary on Country Music by Ken Burns and my efforts to get Jim Reeves proper coverage. I expressed my concerns that Jim Reeves would not get the coverage deserved and was proven right. I encourage all who read this posting review that lengthy thread as it received a big response.

I tried to express the elitist attitude that Ken Burns was exposed to and apparently adopted in the liberal college environment of Hampshire College, Smith College, Mount Holyoke College and Amherst College. I thought (rightly) that elitist Burns would not accept input from the proletariat class, hence no Jim Reeves coverage beyond what he alone allowed.

I was rather inarticulate in my description of liberal college and got some pushback from Larry.

Recently there was an article in the New York Times, and a follow up report by Fox News Tucker Carlson 2/25/2021, that better explained the attitude I attempted to describe in my August 4, 2019, post. The report is still on YouTube but it gets hindered in reposting for some unknown reason.

Additionally there is another report by Tucker Carlson on YouTube "Campus Craziness" November 21, 2016, about Hampshire College that Ken Burns attended and which is financially supported by him. It is a failed institution. I encourage readers of this post to view both YouTube videos.

I realize this is a site supporting Jim Reeves and his music. There is no greater supporter than I. I am included in Larry's Book.

I do not intend this posting to be in any way political. I simply want to clarify what I did not clearly articulate on August 4, 1019.

To any who watch the YouTubes, I come from Holyoke Massachusetts which lies between Springfield Massachusetts and Northampton Massachusetts. I am retired 30 year veteran of the Holyoke Police Department serving as Chief 1991 to 1994. I have dealt with all the surrounding departments and can attest to the accuracy of the Ken Burns college environment as described in the YouTube videos.
