Your use of the word 'rehash' made me smile. Here in the UK we had a popular music panel programme in the 60's called Juke Box Jury. Celebrities would hear new releases and vote 'hit' or 'miss' on them. Jim was iconic then (he still is!) with the press referring to his 'mesmeric hold' on the top twenty. A new JR release was played and a very opinionated TV celeb at the time said he was "sick and tired of the continual rehash of Jim Reeves". The record was voted a miss. Its title? 'Distant Drums'!.
Not only did it go to #1, but it became the UK Song of the Year 1966. The celebrity? He got too big for his boots, was sacked by the BBC and ended up bankrupt.
Another VM CD? - bring it on!
