I have heard that a British publisher is contemplating publishing the books, so they may be readily available in the UK in the future. That will also make it easier to purchase them here in Australia. You should also read Quin's Shanghai Circus as it is a wonderful book as well and has some bearing on the Quartet in that a few of the characters make an appearance in Jerusalem Poker.

They are not readily available in Australia - I am assuming you are from here. You should also get Quin's Shanghai Circus as it is quite remarkable as well. The new editions are in trade paperbacks, rather hefty paperbacks at that. But they would be more economically purchased from Amazon, postage and handling costs excepted. As you can see there are quite a few of us who hold Whittemore in high esteem, even if we all originally thought we were the only people in the world who had read him. Anne --Previous Message--
