I first read Whittemore after a Harper's review in the 70s. Since then I have read them all more than once. I had them all on my IPad but lost them somehow. On trips to the Middle East I always lingered in one of his "dusty waysides." I have recommended the Quartet to many friends and just about all love them as much as I do. Enough said. --Previous Message-- : Guys's, Ive been a EW fan for a long long time : and I would love to hear more from other : officianados of this great writer :

Hi Sam,
It has been very quiet on this Message Board for years, so don't expect much of a reaction, other than from me, the owner of the site.
It's a pleasure to meet another Whittemore enthusiast and learn that EW has not been totally forgotten, even though he remains obscure.
I haven't re-read the novels for quite a while, but I never forget them.

WOW! A new message after all this time. Welcome Geoff! Don't know if you will get any discussions going, but you are welcome to try.

Hello! I saw that things have been slow here for a long time, but thought I'd chime in. I finished the Jerusalem Quartet last year and already find myself thinking about re-reading them, despite having a thousand other things I haven't finished, or even started. I was turned on to Whittemore via Erik Davis' review of the Jerusalem Quartet, and since his recommendations are usually right up my alley, I wasted only a little time diving into them. I'd rank the JQ as some of the finest books I've had the privilege to read, and it's really nice to see this site here, celebrating the author and his work.
I have no idea whether this message board will prove fruitful, but I wanted to say at least a little something. Thanks!
D.A. Smith

Thanks for your message.
There is some good news in the pipeline, but I can't report it just yet regarding new ebook editions of The Jerusalem Quartet.
All I can is that it's about time.
